Cal Bombay Ministries + Gardens of Hope
Cal Bombay Ministries + Gardens of Hope is a Christian charity that provides food for the body and food for the soul. Our work began with a large farming project and a church in Sudan but after war broke out, everyone fled over the border into Uganda. Our work is now focused on training both refugees and low income earners to grow small gardens to provide for themselves; as well as providing each family with the Word of God and spiritual ministry. We provide vegetable seeds, training, garden tools, follow-up visits and a bible to families living in the refugee settlement in northern Uganda and also in the slum areas of Kampala. Biblical teaching and emotional support is also offered through Good Friends Church which was founded by Cal Bombay Ministries. When families are given the opportunity to grow their own food and even earn a small income from any surplus; and when they are given a copy of the Word of God, their lives are changed. Those who once felt lost and traumatized now have a chance to move forward as they are taught new skills, given resources and offered a relationship with Jesus.
