The dream of Missionfest Manitoba began in 1984, when a number of mission organizations
began planning small annual conferences. The first conferences were called “Missions
‘85”, “Missions ‘86”, and “Missions ‘87”.
In 1988, the committee chose to ‘raise the bar’ and the first Missionfest Manitoba

At Missionfest Manitoba 2014, we will be looking at the issue of human trafficking
at home and around the world. Current estimates declare that 600,000 to 800,000 people
are trafficked across transnational borders each year. When trafficking intra-country
estimates are included the number reaches into the millions. If millions are trafficked
against their will each year, millions upon millions are currently trapped in situations
against their will.
How can an individual Christian make a difference?
Proverbs 31: 8 and 9 strongly suggests that those who believe in the Bible must speak
out for those who cannot speak for themselves. World-wide human trafficking is now
epidemic and the problem seems to be insurmountable. But we know that with God there
is no situation that cannot be overcome. Perhaps at Missionfest Manitoba 2014, the
Lord will lovingly guide us to how we are to respond to this epidemic and communicate
His Gospel to all peoples.
