Shine the Light Initiative
Open your family’s eyes to how 80% of the world lives! Shine the Light travels to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic 3-4X each year with groups of 30-40 people ranging in age from toddlers to retirees. Each trip, they build multiple houses for impoverished families and also provide the local people with dental and medical care, and equip the locals with valuable job training skills. The Shine the Light Community Centre has become a central place where those in the village of El Javillar can turn to for help and for skills to stop the poverty cycle for generations to come.
